Gabe enters his 14th season as an assistant coach under head coach John Smith.
Haberly joined the Bruin athletics staff in 2012 as an assistant coach of the men’s and women’s track and field program and works primarily with the pole vaulters, javelin throwers, and sprinters. His athletes helped the Bruins win the NCAA Division III women's outdoor national championship team title in 2018, as well as eight consecutive Northwest Conference men and women’s track and field crowns. Individually, Haberly has coached 33 NWC champions, 15 NCAA All-Americans, 4 NCAA national champions, and Seth Nonnenmacher at the 2018 USATF National Championships in the javelin. Additionally, Haberly has coached athletes to 4 indoor school records and 6 outdoor school records. Haberly has been named the USTFCCA West Region Outdoor Men's Assistant Coach of the Year in 2018, National Outdoor Men's Assistant Coach of the Year in 2018, West Region Indoor Women's Assistant Coach of the Year in 2020, and West Region Outdoor Women's Assistant Coach of the Year in 2022.
Haberly served as the wide receivers for the George Fox football team from 2013 to 2019, where he coached six NWC All-Conference players. He is now the director of speed and explosiveness for the Bruins football team.
Haberly also coached wide receivers at Linfield University 2009 to 2012, with eight players earning NWC All-Conference honors. The Wildcats won NWC titles all four seasons, advancing to the NCAA semifinals in 2009 and the quarterfinals in 2012. While at Linfield, Haberly also coached the pole vault, javelin, and multi-events for two seasons. In the pole vault, he coached one NWC champion, one NCAA national champion, and two NCAA All-Americans.
